Angle of the Sun + Novato Climate
Since the sites we chose were all on San Marin campus, so the angle of the sun is the same for all three. The Earth's seasons change according to tilt of the Sun (not the amount of sun). In this diagram, from The University of Oregon's Sun Radiation Monitoring Program, the weather is hottest in June on an average of 85 degrees farenheit around noon.
Precipitation
Novato has an average of 35.5 inches of rain fall a year. The highest monthly rainfall is around 7 and a half inches. The lowest average rainfall a month is about .5 an inch. Novato has the most precipitation during December, and the least amount in August.

Global and Local Wind Patterns
GLOBAL:
As you can see by the diagram, wind does not just go in one direction. Polar Easterlies are dry, cold, that blow from the high-pressure areas of the at the north and south poles towards low-pressure areas within the Westerlies at high lattitudes. As shown in the diagram, wind patterns are broken by latitude. For example from 60-60 degrees north the wind is blowing Southwest, 30-30 degrees north wind is blowing Northeast, and so on.
LOCAL: Novato is located near the ocean, so we get a lot of wind from there. We get fairly strong winds at times, but they blow to the East.

Our Decision
We carefully examined each site and decided to choose site 2. We chose this site for a number of reasons. It has the most direct sunlight, and is a very conveinient spot because it is right next to the parking lot.(where a lot of kids go) So We decided to choose site 2.
